Summer’s Over, But Don’t Worry — Here’s Why You Should Visit East TN This Fall

September 22, 2016

Today (9/22) is officially the first day of fall. Another summer here in the Smoky Mountains has come and gone, and we’re happy to say it was a fun and memorable season for Outdoor Adventures. We guided thousands of guests safely down the Pigeon River, creating lifelong memories and even converting a few naysayers along the way. We brought groups of all kinds together — companies, churches, and everything in between. We built a team a motivated, joyful people we’re truly proud of. And now it’s over.

But DON’T WORRY! East TN is still alive and kicking, and the Smoky Mountains are just as beautiful in the fall as they are the summer. In fact, visitors come from all over the world during autumn just to see the leaves change. (Did you know the Smoky Mountains are home to 100s of species of native trees? It’s this diversity of plant life that makes the changing colors so captivating.) The last few weeks of October, in particular, are especially popular for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park — so popular that traffic delays are common alongside some of the more prominent landmarks. We suggest making accommodations as early as possible.

And if you’re interested in exploring the Smokies sometime over the next few months, The National Park Service put together some suggestions for scenic drives/hikes through the mountains. As always, be sure to support local businesses around the Hartford, TN area during your trip.

To all of our guests who visited over the summer— whether you’re from right here in East Tennessee or another continent entirely — THANK YOU for your business and support. Thank you for your eagerness and positive attitude. And thank you, most of all, for allowing us to do what we do: to create memories, to strengthen bonds among friends and family, and to rekindle in our guests a love of the great outdoors.
