‘Midnight Hole’ in Great Smoky Mountains National Park

June 9, 2017

Located just 1.4 miles into nearby Big Creek Trail (just a quick, 15 minute drive from Outdoor Rafting Adventures) is a deep, beautiful swimming hole known as Midnight Hole. An increasingly popular destination for both adults and families, Midnight Hole is definitely one of our more asked about spots in the Smoky Mountains. We definitely recommend you stop by on your next visit!

Directions to Midnight Hole

Before or after your white water rafting adventure, we suggest you head over to Big Creek Trailhead, just across the state line into North Carolina. Big Creek Trail is a relatively easy hike without too much an incline. Just under a mile and a half into the trail, you’ll come across Midnight Hole on your left (just a little bit past a wooden bridge).

What to do when you’re there

Midnight Hole is one of the best places in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to cool off a take a relaxing swim. There is an incredible, 6 foot waterfall and several large rocks to jump off of. It’s an excellent pit stop if you want to continue the trail, with the scenic Mouse Creek Falls just another half-mile away.

This summer, come see us at Outdoor Rafting Adventures and check out Midnight Hole for yourself! Book your white water rafting trip TODAY by calling 866-333-RAFT, or by making your reservation online. We hope to see you soon!
