Gatlinburg Fires: Here’s How You Can Help

December 7, 2016

Gatlinburg tn fire“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.'” – Mr. Rogers

By now, we’re sure you’ve heard of the recent wildfires in Gatlinburg, TN. State officials are calling them the “worst in over a century,” and at least 14 people are now confirmed to have died during the firestorm. Additionally, thousands of homes, businesses, and other structures have been damaged or completely destroyed by the fires.

We’re happy to report, however, that the fires did NOT reach the city of Hartford, TN, where our main office is located.

Over the past week, we’ve been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from family, friends, and guests from all over the country — most of whom just want to know how they can help.

Whether you’re looking to donate time, money, or items (clothes, food, school supplies, etc.), we recommend you check out www.mountaintough.com. They’ve done a terrific job consolidating all the information you need to seek help or make a donation.

If you’re willing and able to lend a hand, please do so. Your thoughts, prayers, and donations are greatly appreciated by the people of East Tennessee. This is just the beginning of what we’re sure will be a long and arduous rebuilding process, but we’re confident that with your continued support, the Gatlinburg area will return even stronger than before.
